DIYeGPU-Setup

Perform calibration If you connect your monitor via DisplayPort, the DIYE will automatically perform a calibration. The Monitor System App checks the connection and checks if the monitor can be properly detected. If this does not work, you can manually calibrate the Monitor System App. You can find detailed instructions on the Monitor System. The main application window has the following options: To calibrate, tap the “Calibrate” button. To start the calibration mode, tap the “Start Calibration” button. Note: If you have not properly calibrated your monitor yet, the DIYE will display the message “Calibration is not available at the moment. Please calibrate your monitor first”. This is a normal behavior of the Monitor System App and does not mean that your monitor is not calibrated. To stop the calibration, tap the “Stop Calibration” button. If you see the message “Calibration done”, you have successfully completed the calibration process. If the DIYE still displays the calibration message, it means that you have not done the calibration properly. Please read the section “Calibration” in the Monitor System App. Your monitor must be connected to the computer and plugged into the dedicated USB port. You cannot run the calibration if your monitor is not connected to the computer. We recommend to run the calibration process once. This will prevent a bad calibration that occurs if your monitor is connected to a faulty computer. Configure your monitor for DisplayPort You can find detailed instructions about the display of your monitor on the Monitor System app. After the calibration of the Monitor System App, you have to configure the connections for the two display adapters in the Monitor System App. The connections must be properly configured on both the DIYE and your monitor. If you still have problems, see the next section “Identify and troubleshoot hardware problems”. Set up your eGPU via the Monitor System App In the section “Configure your eGPU”, the DIYE automatically scans your connected devices and detects all available GPU adapters. Select “eGPU” as the “Device”, and the GPU adapter you want to use as the main GPU adapter. Tap “Configure” and follow the instructions in the “Configure your eGPU” 01e38acffe Version 1.35 Released (c) 2019 – nando4 This software may be reproduced, modified, translated into other languages, or used for training purposes without any restriction, as long as the original copyright is not altered. All evaluation cards I have used are eGPU compatible. Full disclosure: I am the developer, maintainer, and original writer of this software. Justification: I bought an eGPU setup (I do not remember the exact model) for $200, when I read about various issues with other models, and then how difficult to configure and control the software on other eGPU software solutions. I first developed this software as a DIY eGPU setup. Later I decided to let others who wanted an eGPU installation for less that $200, use the same software. So I developed this software. If you use this software, then I ask you to acknowledge me for this software. The software uses the definition of eGPU from eGPU.io: "The only thing you need is a video card with a mini DisplayPort (MDP) connector (1.4 or higher). Then you need a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort adaptor, because the card will display on an old TV with a DP port. That's it. This method is simple, can be upgraded for many different graphics cards, and most eGPU solutions from various manufacturers are compatible with this setup." For the purpose of this software, I take that definition to mean that any MDP card (meaning a card with a Mini DisplayPort to DP adaptor) is an eGPU. I provide a link to a detailed eGPU.io article, and I give links to the instructions on the same page in this software. If you have problems with the software, I ask you to send me a report, and I can either fix it or get someone else to fix it. But I need a log for you. I also have an email-address for support. eGPU.io definition of eGPU "A mini-PCIe card with a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort adapter connected to a PCIe slot of a Mac or Windows PC. Using a PCIe card ensures that Mac and Windows can use the video output from the external GPU." All video cards I have used are compatible with this setup. I don't provide video card recommendations, because I don't know. I simply rely on the setup guide from e
